1. Start off by measuring how intense your problem is.
(0=not bothered; 10=extremely intense)
2. Then, whilst hand tapping with the non-dominant hand, repeat the following Problem statement three times (out loud preferably).
Even though I have this …..(name the problem)…, I deeply
and completely accept myself.*
3. When you’ve completed this, do the following tapping sequence on each point using the abbreviated Anchor phrase.
…..This (problem)…… (no more than four words)
Inside point of Eyebrow
Side of Eye
Under Eye
Under Nose
Middle of chin
Collar Bone point
Under Armpit
Take two deep breaths then re-measure the intensity level (0-10) and see how much it has reduced.
4. Now do another round but use the slightly amended Problem
statement as follows:………….
Even though I still have some of this …(problem)…, I deeply
and completely accept myself.*
Then proceed with the tapping for the Anchor phrase as described in No.3 above, taking two deep breaths at the end of each round.
5. Repeat this full sequence FIVE times (the Rule of 5) even if the intensity has already reduced to a 0 or a 1. This ensures that that particular aspect of your problem has been fully released.
* You may wish to amend the acceptance phrase ‘I deeply and completely accept myself’ to something you feel happier with. This is perfectly in order as it is imperative that your subconscious is completely at ease with what you are telling it.

Many people have asked me when they should practice Awake Hypnosis. I often say, ‘why not do it daily?’ So, here’s your prescription…. to be taken three times a day.
1. When you wake up, lie in bed and tap five rounds (the Rule of Five) for the following Problem statement (Repeat three times):
‘Even though I don’t know what today will bring, I choose to be calm and comfortable with myself.’
Anchor phrase: ‘Being calm and comfortable today.’ Take two deep breaths after each round.
2. At lunchtime, tap five rounds for the following Problem statement (Repeat three times):
‘Even though this morning has/hasn’t gone well, I choose to be calm and comfortable with myself for the rest of the day.’
Anchor phrase: ‘This morning’. Take two deep breaths.
3. In the evening, tap five rounds for the Problem statement (Repeat three times):
‘Even though I’ve….. been really stressed today (should have tapped for it)……had a wonderful day (am thankful for
it)….the day could have been better (tomorrow will be)….. I choose to be calm and comfortable with myself and have
a restful and pleasant night’s sleep.’
Anchor phrase: ‘A restful night’s sleep.’ Take two deep breaths.
Remember, you can put in your own words for the situation that you’re in at the time. The most important thing is to DO IT! This is how the body learns to relax on demand and how your mind learns to cope with the problems of the day. Also, it is how you learn to accept the fact that this works and begin to realise that Awake Hypnosis can be your greatest friend.
